Student Leaders

Giving students the opportunity to take on leadership roles helps them grow in confidence, develop responsibility and show their potential to lead. Our student leaders play a vital role in shaping our school community, supporting their peers and representing the values of UTC Plymouth both inside and outside the classroom.

Why Student Leadership Matters

Make an infographic to include.

We see student leadership as more than just a title, it’s a chance for young people to:

  • Build teamwork and communication skills

  • Develop resilience and confidence

  • Contribute positively to the school community

  • Act as role models for their peers

  • Gain valuable experience that prepares them for future education and careers

By encouraging students to step into leadership roles, we empower them to make a difference and show that their voices matter.

Meet Our Student Leaders

This section can showcase photos and short bios of current student leaders. For example:

And repeat

Hall of Fame Gallery

  • Use a carousel or tiled gallery format.

  • Include captions to explain what’s happening in each photo.

How Student Leaders Support Our Community

Our student leaders are actively involved in:

  • Representing student voice in school improvement initiatives

  • Organising school events and celebrations

  • Supporting anti‑bullying initiatives

  • Leading fundraising activities for local charities

  • Acting as ambassadors during open evenings and school tours

  • Providing peer mentoring and support

  • Taking part in employment interview panels

  • Hosting high profile visitors.

Their contributions help make UTC Plymouth a welcoming, supportive, and inspiring place to learn.

Get Involved

We encourage all students to consider applying for leadership roles. Opportunities are advertised throughout the year and training is provided to help students succeed.

Parents and carers can support by encouraging their children to take part, recognising their achievements, and celebrating the positive impact they make.
