What is Briefing & Mentor Time?
Briefing and Mentor Time is a dedicated part of the school day where students come together to prepare, reflect and focus on their learning journey. It provides a structured opportunity to:

Receive important updates and announcements.

Engage in discussions about upcoming events, opportunities and school life.

Work closely with mentors to set goals and track progress.

Gives Mentors the opportunity to conduct a daily ‘check in’ and make sure students are prepared for the day.
This time is designed to ensure every student feels supported, informed and ready to succeed.

Knowledge Organisers & Pupil Planners
Briefing and Mentor Time is the perfect opportunity to make full use of our knowledge organisers and pupil planners.

Knowledge Organisers: These provide a clear overview of key topics, helping students consolidate learning through retrieval activities and prepare for assessments. Pupil Planners: Students use planners to record homework, track progress, behaviour and attendance, and reflect on their goals. Mentor Time ensures these tools are reviewed properly, embedding good habits of organisation and self‑management.
