At UTC Plymouth, professionalism is at the heart of everything we do. Just as you would arrive at work prepared with the right tools, we expect our students to come to school ready with the correct equipment every day. This ensures high standards, supports learning, and helps students develop the professional habits they will carry into future careers. 

Equipment Provided by UTC Plymouth 

To support learning, every student will be issued: 

• Exercise books  

• UTC Learning Pack- (knowledge organiser, clear wallet, pupil planner, mini whiteboard and pen) 

• If these items are lost or damaged beyond use, there will be a replacement charge. Items can be purchased at school. Via Arbor 

The Essential Equipment 

These are our non‑negotiables, the items every student must have to be prepared for learning: 

1. A black bag appropriate for the workplace, large enough to fit A4 books 

2. At least two black writing pens 

3. At least two pencils 

4. At least one purple writing pen 

5. One 30cm ruler 

6. One rubber 

7. At least two different coloured highlighters 

8. Learning Pack provided by UTC Plymouth  

9. Recommended (but not essential) 

• Glue stick 

• Basic colouring pencils 

• A reading book 

How to Purchase Equipment 

Option 1: Arbor App 

Learning Packs, Planners and Knowledge organiser replacements can be purchased directly through the Arbor App: 

• Log in to your Arbor account 

• Navigate to the “Shop” section 

• Select the items you need and pay securely online 

• Items can be collected from school once purchased

Option 2: In‑School Shop 

We also run an in‑school equipment shop, where all items can be purchased with either: 

• Money (cash payments) 

• Tokens (earned through good attendance, behaviour, and learning) 

Token Rewards 

Tokens are awarded to students who demonstrate excellent attendance, positive behaviour and strong learning. These tokens can be exchanged for equipment in the school shop, reinforcing the link between professionalism and reward.
