Our Approach 

Safeguarding at UTC Plymouth is proactive and comprehensive. We: 

• Provide training for all staff to recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns. 

• Maintain clear reporting procedures so concerns are acted on quickly. 

• Work closely with external agencies to ensure students receive the right support. 

• Promote a culture of openness and respect where students feel safe to speak up. 

Safeguarding and Welfare Team 

Safeguarding at UTC Plymouth is led by: 

• Senior Leader Safeguarding Oversight– [Justine Hardie] 

•  Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) – [Rachel Miller] 

They are supported by a dedicated Safeguarding & Welfare team, which includes pastoral staff and Heads of Year. Together, they ensure that safeguarding policies are implemented consistently and effectively across the school.
